Shibani Balsaver was born and raised in Houston, Texas. After discovering her love of storytelling as a teenager, she traveled to India for three months to direct a short documentary that follows the life of a housemaid living in the Bombay slums. While there, she got her first taste of film editing by observing the editors of a Bollywood mythological drama. In 2008, she attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts to pursue her BFA in Film and Television. Currently in her senior year at NYU, Shibani has been an integral part of numerous short and student films. Since 2009, she has also worked for various film, television, and commercial production and post-production companies. Shibani is currently producing her first feature film in New York City.
